Movie News:Pratchett, Novik, The Wiz, and Wonder Woman

* Terry Pratchett’s The Colour of Magic is currently being transformed into a four-hour miniseries.

* Peter Jackson has optioned Naomi Novik’s Temeraire dragon series. Jackson is currently working on an adaptation of The Lovely Bones by Alice Sebold.

* John Boorman is working on a CGI of The Wizard of Oz, said to be a “faithful” adaptation of the book.

* Warner Premiere, DC Comics and Warner Bros. Animation are set to release the all-new animated original movie Wonder Woman on March 3, 2009… and features a stellar celebrity voice cast including Keri Russell (Waitress, Felicity), Nathan Fillion (Desperate Housewives), Alfred Molina (Spider-Man 2), Virginia Madsen (Sideways), Rosario Dawson (Sin City), Oliver Platt (The West Wing) and David McCallum (NCIS).   1. I’m really excited about the Wonder Woman movie. The previews for it look very promising.

    But no, DC Comics, an animated direct-to-DVD movie does not make up for failing to put Wonder Woman on the siver screen. I’m sorry. Good try.
